Xu
Zhongou, print-making artist
Born
in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
Professor of Sichuan
University. He is a famous Chinese wood-cut artist. Since
1994 the "walnut" series has made his print
language more prominent in the print field. The
"walnut" series taking a most unnoticeable
and common fruit as the motif has diverted the
aesthetic attention from the traditional topics into a
new dimension, which has freed the Chinese print art
from the confinement of the range of subjects and
demonstrated completely a language of the woodcut
itself. Many of his works have been collected in
Chinese fine art museum, Baltimore museum and the
British Museum, etc.

Zhu
Xiaohe,
oil painter
|
 |
|
Post-graduated
from Sichuan Fine Art institute in 1986 now a
professor in this university.
For
him, "short lines give a peculiar nature to the
subject. This new nature has no expression, sorrow,
happiness and breath, it is nameless. In fact, it is a
different illusion which we have never seen or dreamed
about, so we can't imagine it"
